Eagle Point is a small county park with a developed kayak ramp tucked into a Gulf-side cove, which makes it one of the more forgiving put-ins on this stretch. At the ramp you are sheltered, sliding into calm cove water off a hard surface instead of a muddy carry. Paddle out of the cove and you are on the open Gulf, where the wind and chop are whatever the day is making, so the cove gives you a soft start and an honest read on conditions before you commit to going out. It is a quiet, low-key spot without much in the way of crowds. The flats out front run shallow, so mind a dropping tide on the way back in.
